Mya's Black Point Senior Portrait Session | RI Senior Photographer
We’re just wrapping up a great senior portrait season. High school seniors are some of my favorite folks to photograph. I learn something new each and every time I photograph one and they are all such bright lights in their own unique ways.
As a RI senior photographer, it’s always a pleasure to be able to photograph a senior who I’ve known for a long time. It’s an honor and also a bit bittersweet to see this person who was just a teeny toddler ready to go out and take on the world.
This was exactly the case with my senior portrait session with Narragansett class of 2026 senior Mya. I've known Mya (and her sisters) since before they even came hearthside, and I was lucky enough to be able to take her sister’s senior portraits last fall.
Mya has always danced to the beat of her own drum and has a beach, free spirit vibe. We decided to go to Black Point in Narragansett for her senior portraits, for its mix of woodsy backdrops and the rocky ocean shore. Fall weather in New England can be tricky; you never know if it will be sunny and summer-like or if winter is going to make a surprise appearance. Fortunately for us, we had a gorgeous day for photos. We walked around the paths of Black Point, down to the rocks and the water, with views of the Point Judith Lighthouse in the distance. We talked about school, life, and what’s next in the grand scheme of things for Mya. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter of life holds for her! Also, shout out to Mya’s mom for being the best “equipment sherpa” for this session!
Take a look below to see some of what we captured. Got a high school junior and already thinking about senior portraits for next year? It’s not too soon, I promise! Get in touch and we can chat.
