It’s not often that I take engagement photos. Usually those are part of a couple’s package with their wedding photographer, and while I like going to weddings, photographing them is not my jam anymore.
That said, I love love. Who doesn’t? And every once in awhile, I get the chance to take a couple’s engagement photos. These sessions are the BEST because how can you say no to two people in love? They’re such happy sessions.
A little earlier this fall, at the end of October, I got to take Lex and Ed’s engagement photos. They came down to RI from right outside New York City to see me. Lex and Ed love the beach (in fact, they’ll be getting married in Florida next year). We decided to have the photo session on Narragansett Beach. The beach at the end of October can be a crapshoot. Will it be warm? Cold? Will we have a hurricane or even worse, an early season snow episode? Waiting to see what the weather will be can be a little anxiety-inducing, but thankfully, the day of our session was absolutely gorgeous. It was sunny and unseasonably warm and made for a wonderful session. Lex and Ed brought along their faithful canine companion, Boozer, who is 14 years old! He dressed smartly for the session with a fancy bow tie and is pretty spry despite being a little elderly. I’m a sucker for pups so it was great to have him there.
We wandered down the beach and amongst the Dunes Club cabanas during our session and had a great time. Check out some of the photos from our session below and don’t forget to wish Lex and Ed the best in their life together!
